Using Linux

I love Linux as an OS. It has it all, it works great, it's free (yeah, stop nagging me about free vs open source. But there is one reason for me NOT to use linux and that word is:

Games

Of course you can play Linux games but what I'm talking about is games like Fallout 3, Team Fortress 2, GTA IV. I've tried to run TF2 in Wine and it looked promising but it wouldn't start the game.

And I don't want to boot to windows each time I want to play a game, it should be done on the same OS.

So when gaming is not a problem anymore on a Linux system, I will drop my support voor the Micro$oft operating system.

The 'assault' on the Queen's family

If you haven't notice, there has been an assault on the Royal family on 30th April 2009. In Holland we celebrate the birthday of our Queen on 30th April. Although she celebrates her actual birthday on 31st of January, it's tradition to celebrate it with the people on 30th of April. Most of the times it's a lot warmer too.

And it was horrible what happened that day, a man in a Suzuki Swift drove through a crowd af full speed, killing and injuring people and was finally halted by a big concrete monument. The images where horrifying and I wish all my best to all the people that have suffered or lost someone.

But the day after, one starts to wondering. The official report is that in the car, the severe injured driver told the police he was aiming at the Royal family, which at that time, were in an open bus. If he was attacking the Royal family, why would he do that in a Suzuki Swift. That car will only make a scratch or a dent into the bus. There were no explosives found in the car, so an attempt to let the car explode was out of the question.

Two or three days later, the driver was braindead and again a day later he passed away. Again this rises the question. How can someone be braindead and tell the police that he was aiming at the Royal family. Of course it is possible that he was not braindead when he was arrested in the car and transported to the hospital. I'm not a doctor, so I have no knowledge if this could be possible. But isn't this highly unlikely? I know I'm making assumptions here, but what would the first thing you would do when you where the driver. Tell them 'Oops sorry, I wasn't aiming at the monument but at the Royal family' ? I don't think so.

I think they wanted the Royal family in a secure place, because it *could* be an assault on the Royal family. Therefore they (the police) made up this story of him telling that was the target. Or does it have a deeper meaning?

Start from scratch

So today I decided to start from scratch. I tried to do the blog in dutch but seriously, no one was reading it. Well no one knew it existed. But then again, I didn't publish any articles that were interesting to be found. But that all will change. Well at least there is the ambition and theory. We (or in the worst case I) will see if it all works out.

I've got some ideas to get the attention from the rest of the world. But ideas have to be realized and that is where I'm at my worst. We all have our flaws and that is one of mine. I have several more but you don't have to know them.

So I'll think about a couple of ideas and maybe work some out. My goal is to get at least some visitors to my page, by publishing articles that are worth reading.
